Karen (readerkaren) | 59 comments I am going to try to read:

Wouldn't Take Nothing for My Journey Now by Maya Angelou

I have other books that I want to read for this category but I have been setting unreachable goals in the past couple of months. If I read this one book, along with the other book I am trying to finish by the end of the year, I will be happy.

message 14: by Megan (last edited Dec 31, 2019 01:58AM) (new)

Megan | 26 comments Haven't been able to read as much as I'd like to in November, so I have a massive backlog from previous challenges that I'd like to get through still. I won't be able to get through all of them, but this is the list that I will be choosing from. I don't know how diverse most of these books are, but I know atleast one or two have LGTBQIA characters.

- The Fiery Cross
- A Breath of Snow and Ashes
- The Last House Guest
- War of Mist
- Rules for Vanishing
- The Black Moon
- Fire Queen
- My Oxford Year
- Sorcery of Thorns
- The Burning Chambers
- Ninth House
- Nothing Ventured
- The Girl the Sea Gave Back
- The Sisters
- The Four Swans
- The Christmasaurus
- The Lost Man
- The Toll

message 15: by Lauren (new)

Lauren TBR

• Kingdom of Souls by Rena Barron
• Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi
• Slay by Brittney Morris

Also I could use some recommendations for a good fantasy book with well-written queer characters.

I’ve read and enjoyed Carry On & Of Fire and Stars. Anyone have any other recs for great queer fantasy?

message 18: by NAT.orious reads ☾ (last edited Dec 28, 2019 01:24AM) (new)

NAT.orious reads ☾ (thevoiceofthewolf) | 39 commentsThe Opposite of Falling Apart - done: if you don't like this book, we can't be friends.

Syrian Brides - done: educating and emotionally engaging collection of short stories about the lives of Syrian women.

Always Goodbye - done: sometimes too much meandering around, this still prooved to be enlightning and touching.

Origins - done: although I wouldn't say polyamorous romances are not my cup of tea, this one was definitely not an enjoable read.

Hell's Calling - done: same as a bove. my problem is exaggerate love-at-first-sight-stuff.

If you liked the Poet X and are looking for another recommendation, With the Fire on High is AMAZING. I personally liked it much more than I liked the Poet X. It would also fit the theme for this challenge :) Happy reading!
