I know we aren’t doing specific challenges but maybe each month can have a theme to help decide which direction to go in for readers who don’t have a set classics TBR? Just an idea! That can also help with the recommendations section.
You should create a “request a buddy read” page on here. Where people can go if they have a classic in mind that they want to read but are maybe intimidated by. They can find someone to read it with.
We could try buddy reading and monthly discussions on books. I am thinking of writing something based on what I read. Earlier this year, I wrote a fan fiction short story, The Desirable Wish based on Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.

Loving the buddy idea. I need someone to help me through Anna Karenina! Also simple themes and challenges would keep things fun and get us to be creative. I liked the read by candlelight theme we did for #victober this year :)

I’d like to see just-for-fun polls, eg favourite classics author (with write-ins possible), favourite time period, or country, etc.
It could be good to have a place where we all share our link to a dedicated shelf for our 2020 classics tbr and/or books read.

What about TBR pals? I'm involved in another group where we sign up once a month and are assigned a partner based on criteria that group members note when signing up ie: What are your top 5 reading genres and fiction or non-fiction. This could be tailored for this group specifically. Members would then provide their buddy with 3 book suggestions. After reading, members post a short post on their thoughts about what they read. This would be different than a buddy read but it would be fun to get recommendations from a group with various experience reading the classics.
Hey Lucy, would you mind making a post where everyone can share their other social medias so we can all start connecting on bookstagram and booklr for example?

I would recommend we open a discord server. Its easier to organize activities there and I’ve seen many successful discord book servers that are still operational today.
