None. All of them are such a disappointment! Well except for Shade. But his ending was disappointing.

You already know I'm going to say Maven purely because he's the only one with a personality(shade has one it's just really cookie cutter and expected) + I'm a sucker for villains.

I loved Shades character but I was so sad that I cried when he died.

How has no one said Kilorn?! He is the best and always has Mare's back. And Shade- his fate was- to sad. :(

All of them are amazing
Kilorn- brave, always has everyone's backs, just adorable
Cal- Funny and Dorky and cares for people that he loves
Shade- Always there to help and never gives up :') Died trying to save his sister
Maven- interesting, cunning, evil
Ptolemus- Frick you I miss shade

Cal is THE WORST. He betrayed Marre for the crown. But whatever. He was okay at the end I guess.

For real they all hit so hard. I’m a sucker for all of them when she is, but I think everyone here can agree that the best male in this series is Julian Jacos and that’s a fact.

Maven is my all-time favourite! However, all of them were amazing characters with their ups and downs but, some left too early.... *cough* Shade *cough*

My favourite is Maven! no matter how much I tried to like Cal I just couldn't!

I love Maven, he's my all-time favorite morally-gray YA character. But logically speaking, Cal is the best in the series. I think his courage is underappreciated. To walk away from everything you know, to accept and acknowledge that the system your kingdom - and your family - upheld was wrong all along, and being the one to change it, were freaking boss moves. And he abdicated this throne to restore balance and give authority to those who actually have the best interests of Norta at heart. Cal deserves all the love. He's not the "perfect guy" fans of this series tend to think is boring. He's far from perfect ya'll.

Shade is the best he didn't deserve what happened to him.
