I loved the way he began it, with the point of view of the only American off planet that day, from the International Space Station. Doing it in timeline fashion did not just show the various simultaneous viewpoints but also increased the tension for the reader, the sense of anticipatory dread in the minutes leading up to the first plane crashing into the north tower, then the suspense as various people make their way out of the towers when you know that collapse is imminent. It also gives the reader an intimate portrait of the president in Air Force One, the only plane in the sky after US airspace was shut down. I relived my own experiences of that day and those following, and even after all these years my heart still aches and tears still fall. Highly recommended.
