Fantasy and Vampire Book Club discussion

I have some really depressing, upsetting surroundings right now and really need a good book to loose myself in. I need something that keeps me hooked from the start and takes me to another world. One that I can’t put down. Anyone know any books like this?

Hi Janna. Sorry you're going through a tough time right now. I checked out your reading list. You've read a lot of the vampire stuff I have.

I am currently reading and LOVE Holly Black's fae books starting with "The Cruel Prince." That's a 3 book series that's completely addictive.



If you've never read Sarah J Maas' "A Court of Thorns and Roses" series, ditto. Heavy on the romance and super addictive like "Twilight."



Another series I love if you like fantasy is "The Raven Boys" by Maggie Stiefvater. Lighter on romance. Really excellent fantasy writing.



One cozy paranormal romance series I LOVE is by Kristen Painter:




...I think I remember you saying you get your books from the library, and I haven't been able to find this series at my local library, but the first book in both her cozy mystery series (the Jayne Frost books) and the romances (Mail Order Bride) are free on Amazon, so you could check them out and see what you think.

I do mostly borrow from the online library to save money, but I can read samples on my kindle and if it gets my attention good enough- I will buy it.

I think the beginning 15 or 20 Argeneau books could hit the spot. They always start with a gripping scene and go to humorous as the couple get together. These are the ones I really liked.
