Paul, you are reading my all time favorite book The House of the Spirits. I hope you enjoy it. I also enjoyed Nervous Conditions. I recommend that one to a lot of people in need of an Africa square on various challenges.
Your list also looks interesting Brina. I have been trying to use books already on my shelves this year and to buy as few as possible; only actually buying two in total.
Lots of good choices, Paul. I'll be looking forward to your thoughts on a few, particularly Liza's England and Jasmine and Stars. I enjoyed Reading Lolita in Tehran, and hope to get to The Grass is Singing this year too. Have fun!
Paul I might use your square for sci fi. This is a hard genre for me and I actually want it to be a challenge. This book sounds interesting enough to hold my interest.
Cool choices!I'm also thinking about:
The Tale of Genji for the I-4 pre 1800's square
Mean Little Deaf Queer: A Memoir for the I-3 disability square...
...time will tell what I end up selecting.
Hope you enjoy your choices!
