Humboldt Park Branch Library Book Group discussion

I thought we could lighten things up a bit after a long OBOC so for the holidays we will be reading Me Before You. I have a feeling this book will be a quick read that will make you cry and want to hug someone.

Here are a few discussion questions to get you through the home stretch!

1. The title Me Before You is perfect. Who do you think is the Me and the You? Are you finding it changing as you progress in the story?

2. Consider Treena & Will's relationship with Georgina. Are siblings closer just because they are related or do you think Lou is ultimately closer to the couple?

3. Lou and Will seem to be on opposite swinging pendulums of life. What makes them create this bond? coincidence or something more?

Have you stopped crying yet!?!

4. Did your opinion of Mr. Traynor change as you read the book? Did you like him more or less after reading his side.

5. Will's right to die, and Lou's determination to change his mind about exercising that right, is a theme that runs throughout the novel. How did you feel about Will's decision at the end? Was it what you expected? Do you think the novel should have ended differently?

One final question for this title...

Do you think that Lou and Will would have fallen in love if they had not been pushed together through circumstances?
If they met on the street before Wil's accident would they have even talked or gone their separate ways?
