I'm just looking for recommendations on the topic, but it could happen that I don't do it. I usually like to prepare a TBR in advance, so I don't have to look for a book every time I want to do a challenge prompt. I often don't manage to read my whole TBR, and sometimes I go on reading it even after the challenge has finished, but I like to have it ready even tough.

Hi Gabi, let me know later if you liked - Kalpa Imperial: The Greatest Empire That Never Was by Angélica Gorodischer. I am interested in reading the book and it can be that I read it after I read the Machado de Assis book. If you run out of Latin American or AOC writers try him. He is the greatest Brazilian writer and as good a classic as Tolstoy.

Goal Met So Far: 16/10

Just completed #13 (Jewish) - The Weight of Ink by Rachel Kadish. Overall, I really enjoyed this book! I loved the juxtaposition between the historical and more modern story. I really appreciated how the current view of women was overlaid onto the historical aspect and subtly showed it's not changed all that much. My only criticism was that the narrative felt really wordy and could have been edited a bit. Given that the story is a love letter to letters and writing and learning, I understand why she chose to write as she did. But at times the wordiness detracted from the story. Definitely worth reading! 4 stars
