What up. My name is Connor I'm big into fantasy/fiction. I enjoy fantasy because authors take us into a world where we can escape the confinements of our world and explore a new one where the only limitation is their imagination. My recommendation is six of crows, the name of the wind, and Lies of Locke Lamora.

      Hey Connor,
Thanks for the intro!
I love fantasy for those same reasons. I’m actually reading the wise man’s fear now (I really enjoyed make of the wind), but I’ll put it on the list for the others (our future members!)
I definitely don’t mind reading it again.

Wise Man's Fear is absolutely amazing and the ending leaves you wanting so more. Just thinking about it makes me want the next book so bad. Sadly, Mr. Rothfuss hasn't finished it and it isn't going to be finished in the near future either.

Yes, I was thinking once I finish this I’m not going to have another one to go to, for now :(
I mean there is a book 2.5 but... I’ll wait patiently for 3.

It doesn't further the story on were book 2 left off. If it did it would have been read already... twice.

Hi. Got room for a guy of mature years here? In my teens I became a rabid scifi reader and remain one to this day (sorry). However, a friend recommended a new, trendy & hot trilogy, just published: The Lord of the Rings; and since then I've had an insatiable appetite for fantasy too. This year, I volunteered my services as an editor for an anthology of fantasy short stories, so I've been reading and editing about thirty stories, selecting sixteen of the best. I have been amazed at how enjoyable this part of the job has been; these stories are of incredibly high quality. I would love to recommend this anthology here, as I have had so much enjoyment from reading it before it was published, but maybe there is a 'no promotion' rule in this group? If so, and if you are at all serious about RPG games, then I'll recommend The Dying Earth series By Jack Vance, which inspired the magic system of the original version of D&D (which I still own).

      Welcome!
I took a look at the anthology and have already added it to my list!
I will definitely add it to the poll for February 2020. But regardless, I plan to read it myself if it isn’t voted for in the group.
We don’t have any rules against promotion if it fits within the fantasy genre.

Thank you very much. In that case allow me to post a link to details about the book... bit.ly/DBS-Details
We have had some wonderful comments so far, including "beautiful" which was a surprising pleasure. Also, I am excited to report that a number of bookstagrammers are now reading it and it seems likely we are about to see some favourable reviews! If you or anyone here does read it, I would be very keen to read what you think of it.
Hello, my name is Carrie, and like you Phil there is something about the fantasy aesthetic that feel right. Like home, be it books, games, tv/movies, the soundtracks to said games/tv/movies. I am very much an eclectic reader, as I love and enjoy many genres/sub genres, but my go to in the book store is the fantasy section, the rest come after much time is spent there :)
Currently not reading a fantasy, I'm reading a historical (as I'm a big history nerd as well) The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris but up next I do have a fantasy lined up A Tide of Shadows by Tom Bielawski

      Hi Carrie,
It's nice to meet you, and thank you for joining us!
Feel free to make any fantasy recommendations in the Book Nominations thread, where we vote for our next book to read as a group.
Also, check out the books we've already read / are currently reading and feel free to partake in discussion if you've already read them in the past.

Hi all. I love reading, but especially love the fantasy aesthetic and good world-building so I'm excited to join this group and discover new reads :)

Awesome, welcome Noor! Thanks for your message :)
We're currently reading Six of Crows, but if you've read our previous reads, feel free to jump in the discussions and leave your thoughts :)

My name is Phil, and I am a huge fan of fantasy-fiction and RPGs! There is something about the fantasy aesthetic that has really resonated with me ever since I was a child, and I wanted to share my love for fantasy with you folks!
The purpose of this group is to meet new like-minded people, share book recommendations, and discuss what we're reading. I encourage you to introduce yourself, start topics of your own, tell us what you're currently reading, and DEFINITELY recommend some books to the group.
I look forward to meeting you all soon!
Take care,
Phil
