No easy day, the thrilling adventure of a decorated seal and his team from their grueling training to pulling off one of the most pivotal moments, if not the pivotal moment of the war on Al-Qaeda.
The book no easy day which was published by Dutton penguin and went on sale on September 4, 2012 which was a week before the 11th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the U.S. It was first published October 4, 2012.
The book itself was written by Mark Owen (which isn't his real name) who was apart of the mission that raided Osama bin Laden's compound and Kevin Maurer who helped him write the book. It's a 316 page book and was one of the best books I've ever read not only because of the information that was presented in the book but because of the depth that Mark owen went into with his own experiences and struggles throughout his military career and training in Mississippi. It showed me that it doesn't matter who you were, where you came from, and what you did it only matters what you wanna do and how are you going to achieve the goals that you set for yourself. Never giving up even when you're body and mind are screaming at you to quit but pushing through adversity and embracing the suck for the betterment of yourself and the betterment of your brothers that are standing by you. Not quitting because it's easy for you but sticking through it for the morale of your teammates.
The book no easy day which was written by a decorated seal with an undeniable reputation in the military to push through adversity who is Mark Owen presents all the information you would want to know and some details that some would not want to know in a way inspiring, grueling, and sometimes even melancholy. He presents a first hand account of the mission since he was on the site itself with his boots on the ground but not only does he provide an assortment of astonishing eye witness accounts, Mark owen also provides maps, diagrams, and images of the compound which his team raided. Providing clear and concise information with visual representation so that the reader can fully understand and somewhat feel like they were actually there.
In conclusion No easy day which was written by Mark Owen with the help of Kevin Maurer is one of the best books I've read this year and would recommend it to people who would like to know more about what happened during the raid on Osama bin Laden's compound down to the minute details the authors do an amazing job informing the reader about the topic but that being said I would also recommend it to people who are just looking for a great read.
