Stephanie is high on the suspect list. Did you ever think she killed Ashworth?

Jo Ann (jojog) | 72 comments For me, it was more like I didn't WANT it to be Stephanie, even though every so often I would think it could be her.

I felt the same way, Jo Ann. Throughout the story, I went back and forth about her guilt or innocence.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments I was at least doubting her innocence a lot of the time. Hoped she hadn't done it.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7669 comments Mod
I hoped she hadn’t, too, Charlene.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I'm in the minority corner then because I was kind of hoping it would end up being her. I think it would've opened up some interesting story threads...would Sebastian cover up her guilt? If so, which I think highly likely, how would he deal with the double standard? Also, I just never warmed up to Stephanie. She's experienced some truly awful things at the hands of the man she believes to be her biological father but it annoyed me that she wouldn't trust Sebastian.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7669 comments Mod
I agree, Veronica, it would have taken the story into some treacherous territory. I didn’t even want Sebastian to have to face that choice.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 242 comments I didn't think it was Stephanie, that would be too easy. Harris never uses the most obvious. I did think Stephanie knew who the murderer was.

Also, I didn't want Sebastian in the position to decide what to do. He struggles with enough demons already; to add another to the list would do him in.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 849 comments I never really thought it was Stephanie. But I agree, I wish she would have trusted Sebastian, but given her upbringing, I can understand why she didn't.
