Sandi (sandin954) | 1276 comments Hi everyone. Read a couple of favorite authors and two group reads.

Here are my November reads:

Good Reads

Scrublands by Chris Hammer Scrublands
Chris Hammer
A well done debut set in rural Australia. I enjoyed the journalism angle, the evocative setting, and the many characters in the small town but did feel the plot had a bit too much going on at times.

Ice Cold Heart (Monkeewrench, #10) by P.J. Tracy Ice Cold Heart
P.J. Tracy
An entertaining entry in the Monkeewrench series. The plot was rather dark but I always enjoy the characters.

The Ghosts of Eden Park The Bootleg King, the Women Who Pursued Him, and the Murder That Shocked Jazz-Age America by Karen Abbott The Ghosts of Eden Park: The Bootleg King, the Women Who Pursued Him, and the Murder That Shocked Jazz-Age America
Karen Abbott
An interesting look at an infamous crime and trial during Prohibition. Listened to the audio version which was narrated by Rob Shapiro and Cassandra Campbell.

Bloody Genius (Virgil Flowers, #12) by John Sandford Bloody Genius
John Sandford
Virgil is called in to the Twin Cities to investigate the murder of a University professor. Virgil and his BCA cohorts are always fun and the narration of the audio by Eric Conger was well done.

OK Read

White Line Fever The Autobiography by Lemmy Kilmister White Line Fever: The Autobiography
Lemmy Kilmister
Since Motörhead has been nominated for the Rock Hall of Fame I thought I would check out Lemmy's book. Not especially well written or organized, but it had a breezy conversational style and I did learn a few things about the band.

I'm glad we read both group reads, and agree the Monkeewrench characters are always a treat!
