Anything you noticed about that you hadn't before about Paige this time around? I personally hadn't noticed as much of her stubbornness on my first read, but it's such an essential part of who she is and makes her a great heroine.

It makes it all the more satisfying when she's able to stand up to him at the end. Her imprisonment actually ended up giving her more freedom and confidence.
I also noticed more on rereading that along with being stubborn, brave, resourceful, clever, and delightfully sarcastic, Paige is really very sweet. I don't think wants to be known or to think of herself as sweet or vulnerable because of the way her heart was broken.

Cindra (mztikicat) The shock of Nick being in love w/Zeke would definitely cause Paige to not want to be vulnerable, or to appear that way. Also think it caused her to raise some serious emotional barriers (in self defense).
Jaxon's treatment of Paige bothers me on so many levels. I get that he took her in, accepted her for who she is, and gave her a job. But he seems callous in his treatment of her. (of all the voyants in his group, actually) It was satisfying to see her defiance of him during the rescue from Sheol I. If she continues to allow someone to have so much influence in her life, she certainly deserves to be respected more. Jax respects her gift and what it can do for him, but it's questionable that he has true respect for Paige. If anything, I believe he may be somewhat afraid of her gift if she becomes too dominant. He knows what kind of power she is capable of wielding as a dreamwalker.
