Tepintzin | 7 comments I read this around 1975. I want to say it's in one of the Alfred Hitchcock collections, but haven't found it in one yet. It was about a woman who for some reason had to live in a haunted house as the assistant to another woman. I don't recall why she had to live there. I remember weird snippets of dialogue, about how in the summer it wasn't so bad to live there, but in the winter, with the long nights, it was. One apparition a person saw was a small boy with blood on his face. The employer liked her chops to be "red right through" when the main character prepared them.

Rosa (rosaiglarsh) | 5392 comments Wonderful, glad I (we) could help! I found it on archive.org by searching “red right through” in “search text contents.” It’s terribly useful.
