Every day Garrison Keillor presents interesting bits about various writers on their birthday (or on the anniversary of their death). You can READ and/or LISTEN to his daily reading at the following webpage by using the calendar at that page: ====>

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Today, 8/13/13, while listening to the Writer's Almanac on the radio, I learned the following interesting fact about books:
==================================================
"For a long time, people in England called printed books 'Caxtons' ".
This was due to the fact that William Caxton was the first man ever to print a book in English. Caxton was born in Kent, England in 1422.

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Just want to mention that you can sign up to receive the daily newsletter which contains Garrison Keillor's daily report about famous literature, as well as interesting author-history.

You can also opt to listen to Keillor's audio version of the same newsletter. It's a relaxing 5 minutes while you enjoy your morning coffee. Much better than the sometimes depressing daily news! :)

To sign up, go to: http://writersalmanac.org/newsletter/
