Linette | 135 comments Loved Kip's trip through the cards to visit his great great...grandmother! And whatever ship he also went to through the other card. I'm going to enjoy this ability the Guiles seem to have - and the crazy old lady who makes the cards.

Sky | 1291 comments Yeah the cards are pretty cool. I never actually played Magic the Gathering but I imagine Nine Kings is pretty much like that :)

Linette | 135 comments Yes, I've been reminded of Magic often reading these books.

terpkristin I would LOVE for there to be a mobile/pc game or actual tcg based in his card game. I would be on it faster than I was into Hearthstone. I though I read somewhere that he was trying to make it actually released as a mobile or card game but I don't recall where I read that. I'd buy in day 1 if it happened.

That scene with the cards was both really interesting and really annoying. I hate it when authors blatantly deny you information like that.

I played magic a bit when I was younger, for some reason this didn't remind me of that at all, but now that you mention it, I can see it.

Welcome Andrew. I agree TBK is a much better book than TBP. I think it's the best of the series so far.

Suzanne | 1582 comments Welcome Andrew. I liked the blackguard training too - probably one of my favorite parts of the book. The card game is interesting - it makes me want to see some of those cards!

Peter | 153 comments Welcome to the group Andrew. I agree with Rob that The Blinding Knife is far, far better then The Black Prism. I think it's much better written and has an overall better structure. Hope you enjoy it and continue on to The Broken Eye!

I'm undecided if I think The Blinding Knife or The Broken Eye is the best in the series so far...I think there are parts that I like best in both. (: But then again, I'm pretty much a Brent Weeks fanboy haha.
