1. THE LAW OF MODERATION
Moderator's word is law. The rules are here to make this group a safe place, to make it welcoming and fun for everyone. The rules are in place for reasons. Any serious infractions will be met with a warning, three such serious violations result in a removal, and ban, if necessary. When a moderator tells you "no," there is probably a good reason why, please do not argue.

2. THE LAW OF PEACEKEEPING
Be respectful, no bullying or unnecessary arguments. This is a safe-space, hate speech will not be tolerated. Keep the disagreements to a minimum, if it becomes a serious issue and can't be settled, consult the moderators. We are here to help. Please, no talk of religion or politics or anything that can flair up a debate. This is not the place for such discourse. Hate speech or attacks on someone (or someone's character) because of their sexual or gender identity, religious or spiritual views, race, ethnicity, or country of origin will result in removal from the group. This is NOT a place for TERFS, TRUSCUM, Neo-Nazis, or other such hateful ideologies.

3. THE LAW OF LANGUAGE
Use proper spelling and grammar. Do not attempt to type in-accent. Spell check before you post. Please, no text speak in character dialogue. In a similar vein, please keep all Out-Of-Character conversations in parentheses, or even better, out of the role play threads in general. While this group is 18+, please keep any grim-dark or smutty posts in spoilers, if it gets sexual in roleplay, either skip over it or move into private-messaging with your partner. Please do not try to type in Hiberno-English or Scots, or the Cornish or Cockney dialects phonetically. This is generally frowned upon as poor form for writers, and is more or less offensive as it gives way to perpetuating harmful or insulting stereotypes. Instead, include a description of the type of speech. This rule does not extend to the use of slang or other languages (Cymraeg, Gaeilge, Kernewek, French), but do not use them as 'open-sourced Elvish,' and if you do not think you can accurately get the correct syntax and grammar, don't use it, type in English and suggest that the character talked in the language, should the person they're conversing with also be fluent, in italics, to signify the language being understood and translated for the reader. Do not just use a sloppy Google translation.

4. THE LAW OF EVENTS
All major plot developments require approval. This includes finding out about magic or the Fae, marriage, pregnancy, births, deaths, change of species, change of jobs, hosting of events or parties, etc...if you aren't sure whether or not your plot falls under the 'major plot change' category, check with a moderator just to be sure. We are open to plot suggestions, but run it by the moderators first, even if one mod says they like it, all moderators must vote on it before it can be approved and you are given the go ahead. This is to ensure continuity is maintained and any events that should be given proper attention are, such as celebrations or funerals. Don't just make a few posts about it without letting others know. A birthday party for a group of two roleplayers to further your own storylines is not as fun as having multiple members join in for a full-on event.

5. THE LAW OF CREATION
Keep the gender ration even. Same with species. If we have different amounts of male and female characters, someone is going to be left out and won't have a happy love life. Also keep the sexuality and gender orientation even-ish. There shouldn't be a imbalance with the species. If this becomes a problem, the moderators will temporarily not allow a certain species or genders to be created till balance is achieved (too many pixies or too low amount of males). If your first two characters aren't, your third should be a (non-magical) mortal. You can turn the human into a druid or wizard later on, but this will require you to make yet another normal human. That way it is ensured everyone has at least one regular human character.

6. THE LAW OF APPROVAL
Role play requires character approval by a moderator. No overpowered or overly special Mary-Sues. This applies to moderators themselves, by the head-moderator. Please be patient till one of us gets on and reviews your character. If they suggest any changes to the character, please do not argue. This is to ensure they fit into the world, are not a Mary-Sue, and are not over-powered. Roleplaying a character prior to approval will result in a mark against you and the character not being allowed to be used as a punishment for jumping the gun. Don't waste your time and hard work getting banned from use by doing this. No proclamations of grandeur i.e. "I knew Morgana le Fae," "I taught Michelangelo art," "I'm the last of my species," "I'm the only hybrid of x and y," "I caused the Great Fire of London in 1666," etc. All characters 500 years or older must have their ages approved. You are responsible to accurately know the history of the world if you end up choosing to speak about it. If you were in England during the 1500's, you wouldn't know what was going on in Japan during the Sengoku Period. If you fell down a well and got trapped, historical events between the time you fell in and when you got out should be unknown to you. Historical inaccuracies will be considered a rule-break if it happens more than three times.

7. THE LAW OF ETIQUETTE
No god-modding, power-playing, or meta-gaming. Unless you’ve spoken to your partner about an action their character made, you cannot say their character did anything. Your character is the only one you can control, usually. They can not be invincible and can be harmed, or even killed, by others, should it be called for in-game. Your character cannot know everything and overhear everything. They will be aware of what they're directly involved in, and anything that is posted in a town newspaper, blog or something of that format. Unless discussed prior, they don't know everyone's name or species, romantic partners-or-status, or what-have-you. No over-powered characters, no game-breaking powers. You can not use OOC knowledge to influence in-game actions. Similarly, ask before entangling your character with another (ex-lovers, familial relations, best-friends, cousins-of-a-friend who isn't a requested PC collab but was merely mentioned in backstory, etc). Don't do this without permission. I've had this done to me in the past it went sideways real quick. It is rude and can lead to OOG problems.
