She had to dig deep to get past her debilitating fear. That took grit and the thought of never seeing Adam and truly fixing their marriage gave her determination. Adam's training gave her the focus she needed to act when she had the chance.
I think she was scared out of her mind because she’d done the research and knew exactly how awful it could and would be. Her mind focused on Adam to save her sanity. But, I think she’s pretty resilient and concentrating on that training gave her purpose and a way to also combat that fear. When you’re in helpless situations it helps to fixate on something within your control to calm yourself down.
Summer was awesome. She never stopped thinking.
Summer was awesome. She never stopped thinking.
I think this was Summer's ability to think outside of the box and then if you add in Adam's training, she was able to focus on helping herself. The fact that she could think clearly enough in that situation to give her rescuers a clue as to where she was, is amazing. She was constantly trying to figure out a way to save herself and at least delay the inevitable long enough that someone could get to her.
