My book is called "The Lasting Empire"A world struggling to rise from the ashes of war.
Almost five years have passed since the Blood River Battle that ended Cellementum's first ever recorded world war. The world now struggles to rise from the ashes under the rule of a distrustful Hypnor Lord. And one prophecy can change it all.
Rachelle grew up in the streets of New York, just getting used to life at the age of 13 when she finds herself in the biggest mess she's ever been in. A new world, new people, even new physics. How can she be a part of the hardships of this world, and how do they expect her to solve it?
I don't want to share the title of the book, or any of the character names (because it's kind of a secret project), but here's what I can do:So basically the main character lived on a space station, but then that exploded, she failed to save her friend and watched her die, and then three months later she woke up in a strange facility only to be told that a war has started. She was an engineering intern, so basically she's told to make weapons. (Also this allows me to really nerd out with the science aspects of everything without it seeming out of place.)
That's basically the basic plot. There's a lot more to it than that, but I don't want to reveal too much.

Are you still writing this Nova? It sounds really cool!

In Creative Writing class, we watched a video about writers block. The main suggestion is: "Don't be afraid to write garbage. Just write whatever comes to mind and you story will go forward; editing exists for a reason." (I don't remember what video it was and that wasn't an exact quote.)
Hm.. try something random, like cats falling from the sky (except something that works with your book)
My problem at the moment is that my poor planning wrote me into a dead end with a weird plot line I don't know how to fix.
Oh no.... try a short rewrite. It doesn't have to be a full-on new draft, maybe like a page, but it's like a summary if you changed the weird plot line. That may help you fix it
The first time I got stuck was because I kept on going back and changing things. I think I'll have to resort to leaving placeholder chapters in places I haven't planned out, then, once the draft is finished, going back and editing everything.

Follow the rules and have fun!
