Best is the Netflix adaption of A Series of Unfortunate Events I have read the books and watched the show multiple times and it is completely perfect. Worst is hard for me because I like most things but maybe Shadowhunters the TV version I like the film but the show switched up the plot too much I love the actors but the books are just 100x better.
For best, one of the first things that springs to mind is The Death Cure. Aside from a few points, it actually has a completely different plot to the book, like The Scorch Trials before it, but it's for the better. I love The Maze Runner series, but I wouldn't describe those books as 'good'. The films however are genuinely good. The only movie adaptation that I've ever strongly disliked was My Sister's Keeper. The movie took a book about family, free will, and valuing what you have, and turned it into a generic tearjerker, and also changed the ending to make it more predictable and entirely miss the point of the original story. I'm not sure if I'd like that book as much if I reread it now, but it used to be a favourite of mine, and it was done dirty imo.
