Booknblues | 12880 comments So I am planning fewer challenges and fewer books. So I am cutting back on the number of books for two reasons, first I don't want to feel so pressed to get to a number that I stop reading a book because it is taking me so long and secondly, I don't want to continue reading a book which I don't enjoy because quitting will cut down on the number of books read. I don't want to read crappy books, so I have no problem dropping them under normal conditions, so I've vowed that I am not going to let challenges decide for me that i should read a book I don't care for.

That being said here are my goals and challenges:

1. Read 70 books
2. Read books for 12 PBT tags (redundant, I know)
3. Participate in 2020 Poll Ballot Challenge
4. Participate in 2020 Decades BINGO
5. Trim 2020 Continuation.
6. Bonus Points for finishing books planned in a previous month
7. Diversions - one thing leads to another.

Joanne (joabroda1) | 13182 comments Good for for You BnB! I made this same promise to my self last December, and I have had a great year of reading. In 2018 I read 145, but I probably disliked about 30 of them! In 2019 I am on target for 120-my original goal was 125 and I lowered it in November-but I have an average 4 star rating because I am loving what I am reading! Hope the same happens for you!

Thanks, Joanne. I always aim to read 4 star books, but this year I had a few which were below that. I don't mind a 3 star which was enjoyable and fun but lacks literary merit.

I've read all of Hellenga's books. He has been one of my favorite author's and I was saddened by his passing this year.

But thank you for that, John. It is an exceptional book.
