I've nominated the book. From the five chapters that I could read, Pouraka looks very good. And the cover is beautiful. I do hope it gets published! I wish you success!
You painted the cover? WOW! You are a very talented writer AND painter then! I really wish your book gets published.
Thanks. I hope it does too. :) Please spread the word if you feel like it. Here is my website http://gardnersart.com
I just sent an e-mail to friends and family to ask them to check out your book and vote. I hope it will help. And your website is nice! I've looked at your other paintings, they are beautiful. :)
Well, you can always do as you did with this post, try to join the mermaid groups in Goodreads. Maybe if you start following some of the most active members? Also, maybe you can try and contact other authors that published successful mermaid books, like Anne Greenwood-Brown, who wrote the Lies Beneath series. She is on Goodreads and if she could post something about your book, her fans would see it and there is a good chance they will be interested. However, I think you may have to contact her through her official website. Other authors who published mermaid books and are on Goodreads would be Aimee Friedman (Sea Change), Heather McLaren (Mythos), Betsy Cornwell (Tides:it was a selkie book but still) and Carolyn Turgeon (Mermaid). Maybe it would be a way to connect to other fans of mermaid books. I don't personnally know another person who likes mermaids as much as I do, sadly. But your story does look very original, compared to others, and I think it deserves to be published.
Good ideas. It appears I don't spend enough time on Goodreads! Thanks for your help and your encouragement!
It is my pleasure. Thank you for communicating with readers like me. I find it amazing to be able to talk to writers through this website.
Hi Dianne,I am so sorry that Pouraka couldn't be published through Kindle Scout. I hope you find another way to get it out there. :)
Hi, thank you Marylin. I plan on it. I'm going to be sending it out to agents again for awhile and if that doesn't work I'll probably self publish it.
Okay then, I wish you success and the best of luck! Please mention it on Goodreads when you get to have the book published, so that I can buy it as soon as possible!

Synopsis:
Cora's loyalty is torn between her human friends and her lover, Tas who detests mankind for infringement on the sea mammals' habitat. When Tas attempts to rescue the local dolphin pod from a gill net, he is captured. With the magic of Pouraka, Cora changes to human form and travels on foot to rescue him, risking her own enslavement. Time spent away from Pouraka leaves the cavern vulnerable and invaders threaten the existence of the mermaid clan until there is only one final hope for survival.
