Elza (emr1) | 296 comments This is wonderful. I love the descriptions. I recognize many of the terms from Heyer's work so it's a treat to see what they actually look like.

Love the name. 😃

Thanks for finding all this, Critterbee. Will check out thoroughly next year.

Susan in NC (susanncreader) | 4152 comments This is so interesting! I will enjoy referencing the clothing styles as we read next year - thank you! As Elza says, we see these terms in our Heyer reads, nice to actually see what they look like!

QNPoohBear | 1643 comments I HIGHLY recommend Dress in the Age of Jane Austen: Regency Fashion to supplement the images. I haven't even read it yet but flipping through it, I can see it's really nice and informative. It includes a timeline and glossary.

That looks wonderful - and it is pretty new. Looks like a really good reference.

Yes, it just came out and was under the tree for me. It has essays about the history and meaning of the clothes, plus a glossary and timeline. It's a good compliment to the fashion plates, putting them in context.

I asked for it LOL! My mom just went to Amazon to order it but if she had seen it and knew it was brand new, she probably would have gotten it anyway. Everyone knows books and bookish things plus tea are the best gifts for me.
