Just re-read the scene where Rachel and Ceri agree that it's time for Ceri to be introduced to Trent. Now, we all know how that turned out (except for the new readers, you will know soon!), but I wonder: (view spoiler)

I think things still would have turned out the way they did regardless. Look at his reaction when he found out some of Quen's specialized talents and his total horror when he starts to believe Rachel has some of the same talents. The first time Ceri did something, Trent would have backed way off. At least in this point of the storyline. He does eventually become more accepting, but at this point, nope.

Lisa | 10 comments He's so weirded out by black/demon magic and Ceri can spot his BS in an instant, so I don't see it ending any other way.

Yeah, good points. It’s funny that Trent is well-versed in about 500 different ways to murder people, but black magic is just crossing a line for him, lol.

I reread the scene where they meet the other day, and I was surprised to see that Ceri actually says she likes him at the end of it. Maybe she thought there was potential there, but discarded that idea when he (view spoiler)

Plus, you know, (view spoiler)

Pansy (pansypetal) | 7 comments Ceri is so much wiser than everyone gives her credit for. She sees everyone for who and what they are and doesn't judge - too much. I like that about her. It sometimes gets her in trouble, but she also knows who and what she is and does the best she knows how.

Michelle (michker) | 5 comments Trent is a trip when it comes to him killing people but wont touch anyone who does black / demon magic

Dlb (dlb1040) | 33 comments I think Trent, just like Rachel, is still learning or growing in their world per say. I totally hated him in books 1 and 2 but he has grown on me.

I agree! I love Ceri and her wise ways. I think she is perfectly suited to end up how she did :-)

LilWashu | 61 comments Trent can’t handle Ceri. He’s so afraid of demon magic. Now he’s afraid of Quen since he’s found out Queen’s also practicing.
Also notice that she wasn’t having it when Trent called her Mal Sa’han. But she accepted it from Quen.

Jessi Overton (pixibella) | 25 comments I felt like they would make better long lost siblings or something to that effect. I feel like Trent had some growing up to do in the earlier books and that’s what made them as a couple unacceptable.

Jessi: They kind of are long-lost siblings, or at least cousins. Given how aristocratic bloodlines tend to work, chances are better than not that they're related to each other. There just aren't that many pure blood elves running around.
