I am looking for fiction about life as a nun or religious sister (NOT call the midwife- I love that show though). Thank you for any suggestions.

Cally, just to confirm, you're not looking for one specific book?
Lying Awake by Mark Salzman comes to mind

The same author also wrote “Five for Sorrow, Ten for Joy”, also about nuns, set in postwar France. Very good. Five for Sorrow, Ten for Joy

The Sisterhood is a historical fiction novel set around a convent. It doesn't get into daily life but it's very interesting. Set during the Spanish Inquisition.
The Nun by Denis Diderot
"A novel mingling mysticism, madness, sadistic cruelty and nascent sexuality, it gives a scathing insight into the effects of forced vocations and the unnatural life of the convent."

Mariette in Ecstasy
The Divine Economy of Salvation
Probably not quite what you're looking for, but Good Behavior by Donald Westlake is one of a series of books about John Dortmunder, the unluckiest thief in the world. While running away from the police one night he crashes into an urban nunnery. The good sisters agree not to rat him out if he will rescue one of their number who has been kidnapped by her family. Most of the book is from the point of view of Dortmunder or one of the other thieves, but there are also scenes from the kidnapped nun's point of view, as she tries to escape from the penthouse apartment her father has confined her to while she is to be "deprogrammed" of her religious convictions.
A Great Day for the Deadly by Jane Haddam A Great Day for the DeadlyMurder Superior by Jane Haddam Murder Superior
Both of these are mysteries.
DoloresUnforgivable
Black Narcissus
The Girl from Vichy
The Nun's Betrothal
The Abbess of Crewe
When I Was Invisible
The Silence of the Vessel
There are several mystery series about nuns. I love clergy mysteries in general and regularly consult this resource. http://www.stopyourekillingme.com/Job...

Patrick, you need to start a new thread for your book, in the UNSOLVED folder.

I personally LOVED Mercy House.
