Dreams of Perfection (at 12%)

Mortal Heart (start of CD 3)
I have too many books in progress, and I'm behind on a lot of my challenges. Hopefully I can fix some of that during the readathon.
I'm about 75% of the way through The Future of Us. I want to finish that off first then I'm going to try Checkpoint on my husband's recommendation. After that I'm going to try and read some Christmas books.
I am starting with Amy and Roger's Epic Adventure. I'm on page 208. After that I don't know. It's going to be a tough week to read a lot due to lots of work travel (driving) this week :(
I have family visiting for the holiday weekend, so I probably won't have much free time for reading until the first of the week. I'll be back when things return to normal at my house, but we are having lots of fun!

(My goal was 2,000 and I almost made it! Had I known I was so close I would have pushed on, but I didn't add up my pages until the RAT was over!)
Thanks to everyone who made this possible. I love the RATs and look forward to participating in 2015!
I didn't see this in time to participate. And, well, I have my house on the market (it just went there) and we are helping friends and neighbors with their post-Florence clean-ups. We got lucky with her and our house itself took no damage, we just lost our fence and some trees. But those on both sides of us and across the street. Two are total gut jobs and the small one on one side just had to have the garage and kitchen re-done. On, and roofs. There are 23 houses on my street--10 of us had either brand new (i.e. redone with-in the last year) or houses that had been redone in the last 2 years (post Matthew.) The rest of the houses still had their original 17 year old roofs. And, of those 13--8 are in the "total gut job" and the other 5 are in the "if we act right now we can head the mold off and only have to redo portions of the house." But all of the are going to have to replace their roofs asap. The projections for Michael are waffling a bit, but we are sure to get at least tropical storm winds and rain. Ah, the joys of living on the Coast during hurricane season. But I love it, and am not looking forward to moving back to NoVa. But my brother-in-law has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Small Cell Lung Cancer, and since he has the family farm, hubby feels we need to move back and help out as much as we can. The farm has been in the family for 9 generations, and we are trying to keep it in for a few years longer--at least until "we" (meaning the baby-boomer generation that I belong to with hubby and his family) are unable to do the work any more. Then it will be handed to the "kids" (who are 35 to 43, so they aren't really kids, are they?) to decide what they want to do with it. Sigh, I'm making myself depressed now.
Still, I've continued to use this group to record my books read list each year. I actually LOST the entire list one year, and wasn't happy about it, so I started "backing up" the list to here for safe-keeping.
Maybe I'll be able to take part in the next RAT. But if not, I'll cheer for everyone who is.

I was born and raised in PR. So, I understand the hurricane season nightmare! My thoughts are with you as this hurricane season hopefully nears the end.
