Yes, those count. The only hard rules are when the book was published and if you start/finish the book in 2020. Beyond that, how you obtain it and when doesn't matter. We have a lot of readers who make use of their libraries for the challenge and check out books on their TBR throughout the year which, like purchases mid-year, also count.

In terms of counting for the challenge, as long as it was published before 2019 and you started and finished it this year, it counts! It doesn't have to me on your official TBR first to count it in that regard.
If you're tracking your BTB reads here on Goodreads through the group challenge feature, you will likely need to add it to whatever shelf you're using for the challenge for it to count.
