Come chat with your fellow readers pledging to tackle their backlist TBRs in 2020!

Steph L (thetheatergeek) | 3 comments this is my first year doing this. Does it count if we purchase or obtain a book in 2020 but was published previously? I just want to check.

Yes, those count. The only hard rules are when the book was published and if you start/finish the book in 2020. Beyond that, how you obtain it and when doesn't matter. We have a lot of readers who make use of their libraries for the challenge and check out books on their TBR throughout the year which, like purchases mid-year, also count.

Thanks so much.

Kristen Valenzuela (kristendv) I have a question. If we pick up a book and realize it’s considered a “backlist” book, does it count? Or do I have to add it to my beat-the-backlist2020 shelf first?

In terms of counting for the challenge, as long as it was published before 2019 and you started and finished it this year, it counts! It doesn't have to me on your official TBR first to count it in that regard.

If you're tracking your BTB reads here on Goodreads through the group challenge feature, you will likely need to add it to whatever shelf you're using for the challenge for it to count.

Steph L (thetheatergeek) | 3 comments Does anyone have an Indie book recs? I'm not even sure who to tell if a book is Indie, but there's a square on the Bingo. I love YA Contemporary and Historical Fiction. I'll read Fantasy if it has great characters, story, and there is not so much world-building I get bored. I love ACOTAR, The Folk of Air Trilogy (going to work Queen of Nothing to finish the trilogy this year.), Grisha Verse ( currently reading the three-book bind-up of the first trilogy in Ebook.), and The Lunar Chronicles. I'll take any and all recs.

Kira | 1 comments Hello, everyone, I decided to do this bingo challenge again hope I could finish this year. Good luck to everyone :)

Vanessa (decembermagpie) I finished my first book of the challenge. I read The Bear and the Nightingale and it coincides with the prompt "read a book set in the season you read it in". Huzzah!
