I didn't see Lord Thurston as the one behind the murdered women and the missing boys. I thought it was Lady Thurston for sure, maybe with the help of her brother, Lord Benchley. I felt so sorry for Lady Benchley. I cheered when Christopher packed them all up an walked out on these slimy members of the ton.
After reading the conversation between the them, I didn't know if Lord Benchley or Lord Thurston was the man behind the murders. They both acted suspicious when they talked to Millie and learned she had a son.
The entire interaction demonstrated Lady Thurston's complicity. I suspected then that she was the one behind the murders of the women and the disappearance of the boys.
So did I, Lauren. Her behavior raised my suspicions immediately. I put the men lower on the list and she never budged off of it.
Neither of the ladies made it to my list; I assumed it was Thurston exclusively, but that was before I realized that all those missing boys were his. Just goes to show that depravity is not the exclusive realm of one gender more than the other, if power to do the deed is available to both. Very sad.
