50 books in 2020, and write a review for each book read
So far I've read 45, I'm in the middle of 3 more, and I believe I'll be able to reach the goal of 50 for the year by New Year's Eve.
PBT Monthly Tag - 12
I've read at least one for each of the monthly tags, not always within the specified month, except I have not yet read for November (book-to-screen). I project I will have Lathe of Heaven read for that tag by the end of the year (I'm at 49 percent on my e-reader right now).
PBT Poll Ballot Tally
I read 28 books for Poll Ballot Tally, including a few that I thought would be in the more difficult categories: auto racing, country music, cheese (thereby learning more than I ever thought I would know about goat farming). I had fun and got to know some PBT members better. I really enjoyed the unbridled enthusiasm with which some of my team mates approached the challenge.
PBT BINGO
I really liked PBT Bingo and it was more my speed. I ended up having 11 of the calls -- with the very last regular call, I got a potential for a bingo. I have to finish 3 books before 12/31 to make it official :) I'm working on Lathe of Heaven for 1971, just started the latest in the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs for 2019, and I have The Restaurant at the End of the Universe on standby for 1980.
F2F Book Club - 9
My in-person book club has been struggling during the pandemic. Everyone is very focused on staying safe, managing the transition to teleworking while having kids schooling from home, and figuring out how to do all of the things that need doing while leaving the house as little as possible -- just like most everyone else who's paying attention. We're still catching up online or, during the summer, in safely-distance lawn chairs in driveways or front lawns. We're just not talking much about books.
