Trisha (trishabisen) | 2389 comments I’ve seen the Netflix series and loved it! It was a tough one though! I have cried more than a dozen times while watching the series, and considering the subject I feel I’m in for a lot more crying once I start reading.

Trisha (trishabisen) | 2389 comments I’m reading a couple of books for other buddy reads. Planning to start this by next week.

Trisha (trishabisen) | 2389 comments Hey friends, I just finished the book. Here are my thoughts about it- If I just see it as a piece of creation, the book is well-written and the content is gripping to the very last word. Asher smoothly transitions between Hannah and Clay’s POVs without getting the readers confused. Full marks for writing! Now coming to the thoughtfulness behind the subject, I feel that the intricacies behind a suicide are portrayed quite well and even though I feel that Suicide is never the answer, I am in no position to judge Hannah or any person who has ever felt suicidal even for a nano-second, because you can not feel what the other person felt in a particular scenario even if you would have felt differently in that same scenario. We are all different, with our own insecurities. We don’t feel the same happiness, then why would we feel the same pain. Hannah had her reasons to do what she did, and maybe she is projected as an over-sensitive teenage girl, but haven’t we come across such people around us, or haven’t some of us been like Hannah at one point of our lives?

My only problem with the book was that (view spoiler) Because that’s how we humans are wired, to constantly crave for someone’s care or attention. Also, since I had seen the Netflix series before reading the book, the book did lose it’s charm because the series is brilliantly directed and presented (but even then I was able to complete the book in roughly 1 day).

I’ve rated the book 4🌟s. Looking forward to knowing your thoughts about it.
