We start 2020 with Non-fiction as the genre for January. This is so wide open, it's not really a genre on it's own.

I find a narrative really helps draw me in, so non-fiction is always a challenge for me and takes me far longer to read, but it's usually well worthwhile and I've found some fascinating reads over the years.

This time around I am going to try The Silk Roads: A New History of the World and if I have time (which I doubt, as it's a hefty read) I might try to squeeze in Sane New World: Taming The Mind by Ruby Wax, or When the Lights Went Out: Britain in the Seventies

So I chose an autobiography of Dolly Parton Dolly: My Life and Other Unfinished Business for my non-fiction book. It was a great read and got me Tennessee for my USA challenge too. :)

That was quick, Kate. I've only just started 'The Silk Roads' and like the route it explores, it's going to be a long one...

Yes! I can't believe how quickly I read it but it turned out to be really entertaining. My first 5 star book of the year!

How's everone getting on? I've reached the 19th century, but I'm still only a third of the way through 'The Silk Roads' It's good, but slow going, due to all the detail.
