I love it when we read the super trashy books.

Holy cow, I forgot how much sex is packed in this book.
And now that the holidays are over, I need to follow Billy's French diet!

I am still in the midst of my holiday travels, but I will be reading this book when I return home.

Lol I fell asleep reading this book and had some dreams that are NSFW.

I am bowing out of this group read. I could hardly get through chapter 2 without skimming it. Not a fun read, like Jackie Collins. It’s just not for me.

I am enjoying it so far, but you are right, she's no Jackie Collins.

I think this one showed its age and not in a good way. But since it’s a fairy tale (ugly duckling to swan) I tried not to overthink it.

Yeah, the stuff about her weight is annoying.

I got angry reading the "French weight loss" program in chpt. 2, especially since it was women fat shaming women. I also hate shopping, and the book was about a clothing boutique, so I knew it wasn't for me. I pushed myself to finish Emile Zola's The Ladies' Paradise, due to my disinterest in shopping, and that was about a Paris department store and written in the 1800s. So it's not just 70's/80's shopping that disinterests me. To each his own, I guess. :)

The homophobia is also uncool, if somewhat standard for the time.

I am still enjoying this, but Scruples is a dumb name for a store.

I've only just started reading this and while I dislike it I do find myself saying "huh? oh" frequently. On to chapter 5

Anyone see the miniseries? I remember seeing it way back when.
