I believe I read this between 1995 and 2002 so suspect it was published before 2000. Novel starts with the princess imagining herself in a fancy dress while her parents are suspended in limbo because she doesn’t include them in her imagined world. Her arranged marriage fiancée, who can imagine things to feel real without actually making them real, unexpectedly appears in her imagined world. Soon after, they meet in real life for the wedding, but before getting married, she feels ?a pull into another world in ?a pool at their wedding and goes to that world. Her fiancée prince accidentally comes too. The book ends with her discovering that the other world was a future in which she became extremely powerful like a dictator but decides instead to turn away from that future and ?save her present day world. The prince and princess fall in love etc.
