I just finished! I agree, super interesting premise but not a favorite. Although I think the ending is pretty solid, considering how much everyone jokes about how King can't write an ending lol this one seemed to fit.

Yes I agree.. I still love how he ties in characters and places in his books.. have u read the dark tower sagas?
Happy New Year everyone! I'm so happy to be back home and back in my routine. We've literally been home for about 8 hours and I slept for most of those 8 hours. It took 24 hours to get home from New Zealand lol. I want to thank Ashley so much for helping me out and posting the new book list. I hope everyone is excited. It will be another great year~!
P.S. for those of you who are behind like me in King books and have read some of the books already on this list. It's a great opportunity to finish a "currently reading King book" in it's place. I'll be doing that quite frequently I'm sure lol.

I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things. I hate new years resolutions because they never work. I feel like working toward tiny goals works better and my goal just for the remainder of this month is to read at least one more book lol preferably one that is almost done like 'Needful Things'...I'm on page 675/933. So so close lol

Still wAiting on the firestarter book. I have a hodder copy but I don’t want to bend the spine lol. Couple more days maybe 👀🙃
My husband is a Stephen King fanatic and talked me into reading the Stand last November-December. Sadly, I didn’t find this group until midway through Duma Key. Probably my favorite SK book thus far. I had to sit out January’s read for the Dead Zone. However, I did receive Elevation from Santa and polished that off in a single sitting. I am sitting down to read Firestarter at this very moment and I’m excited to join your group.

Welcome Amanda! Duma Key is a fun book. Loved that the paintings are manifested in reality. How did you like Elevation? I don't own that one yet.

I still haven't continued. I'm still trying to catch up on the other ones. #Storyofmylife.

I can only read 2 at most, otherwise I get anxious for no reason lol. I've been in such a slump lately though, already DNF'd 3 books this year which is so not like me.
I understand that feeling Ashley lol.. I keep buying books thinking I want to read them right now and don’t lol
Same here lol my husband gives me the look and I’m like hi my name is Michelle and I’m addicted to books🤣
Omg saaaame! lol I just got another shelf and mine was like, "So that's it? You're done buying books for a little bit?" I was like, " ......yeah....okay pal..." lol

We will be starting off 2020 with a bit of an older book, The Dead Zone. Originally published in 1979 it follows the character of Johnny Smith who goes into a coma and comes out of it with the power to see the past and future by touching people or objects.
There was a movie adapted in 1983 starring Christopher Walken that from what I can tell received pretty good reviews (it currently has a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes). I watched it when I was super young and I remember liking it, but I don't remember much of the plot so I'm excited to revisit it!
It was also a tv series starring Anthony Michael Hall from 2002-2007 but I've never seen it. I have a feeling I'll really like the story though, so maybe I'll add it to my never ending "currently watching" tv series. I'm sure we all can relate, lol.
Also sidenote, if anyone is planning on listening to the audiobook like I am, it's apparently narrated by James Franco. I'm very happy about that, lol. The audiobook is currently available on Audible and Scribd for whoever wants to join in! I'm sure it's available on other platforms as well, those are just the ones I can vouch for as of right now.
I love this club and I'm so excited to get started on all the King for the upcoming year! :)
