Sexual predator a la Des Nilsen busted with thousands of hours of videos on his phone, taken of his sexual assaults on drugged men. A detective working the case said it was the equivalent of 1500 movies on DVD:https://www.independent.ie/world-news...
He would not have been caught at all if a single man hadn't come around unexpectedly and fought the guy off. The other victims had no idea anything had happened.

Yikes! Glad he was finally caught!
Quote from the article, "But once back at his flat he used victims as objects purely for his own gratification - then appears to have derived further twisted pleasure from re-watching his films in court and putting victims through the trauma of giving evidence."
And here I thought Col. Khadaffy was the last of the loony dictators:https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...

With his track record, I'm surprised he lasted 4 years behind bars. A VERY revolting man, indeed.
I know this is late to the party but I only found it a second ago. I found it because I was searching the name of one of the 51 people pictured in this article. The mugshot popped up on Google Images and led me here:https://www.mysuncoast.com/2019/09/20...

I would have posted it properly, in 2019 Crime Headlines, but the discussion is locked...

That's what it says in the meme. I was on my way to an appt so did not take time to dig further.

Sounds as if young Xochil might be a little off his feed. Is there no emergency service in this area? Why would the son rush to his mother's house personally instead of calling the police?
Fishface wrote: "Sounds as if young Xochil might be a little off his feed. Is there no emergency service in this area? Why would the son rush to his mother's house personally instead of calling the police?"It's a suburb of Melbourne, so, it would definitely have emergency services available.

Do you think she should get a full pardon, Fishface?

Pity she had no immediate relatives still living. They all went to their graves never knowing what truly happened to her. :(

From this news story it does not appear that she has expressed any remorse for what she has done. Even if we can accept that she was under coercion and had diminished responsibility because of her age, etc., etc., if she is not a psychopath she would feel the magnitude of what she did and the suffering she inflicted on others. therefore, can we trust her not to offend again, even at her age?
From this news story it appears to me she is only concerned with her own feelings and is not accepting responsibility for even one killing.
That's what I got, too, Hari. This is her 2nd attempt at getting a pardon. Her first one was denied in 1996. A pardon won't change anything ... except in her own mind (and maybe not even there).

If her version of events is true, she should never have been convicted in the first place, so yes. If Chuck's version is true -- which I doubt -- heck no. But I think it's significant that she never seems to have said a word, then or later, implicating herself. Guilty parties very often do and I sure wouldn't expect that kind of self-control in a 14-year-old. She has been 100% consistent in saying she went with him because Chuck told her her family was being held by his friends who would kill her if she didn't do what he said. It seems likely to me -- although far from a sure thing -- that she deserves that pardon.

If this had all taken place in today's courts, I feel it would have not been handled the same way. Such a sad case ... for everyone involved.
Well, I didn't get a post in here yesterday which was the anniversary (100 years) of Geneva Hardman's murder. Yesterday evening, I spoke about the book The Murder of Geneva Hardman and Lexington's Mob Riot of 1920 at at the church where her funeral was held Feb. 6, 1920. I'm doing a series of blog posts on my blog about the anniversaries. To read them, check out https://www.thekaintuckeean.com/tag/g...
Today, Feb. 5, 1920 is the 100th anniversary of Lockett's indictment for Geneva's murder. He would go on to face execution; while on death row, he confessed to four other murders.

Record keeping in those days was not what we have now at all, so I wondered what you were able to scare up.

Such a tragedy. That poor baby ... being born into this despicable mess. :(
I hope they whisk this kid into a foster home, seal the records and never tell him a thing about it.
Some family trees don't branch very much. He was probably raised to believe this sort of thing is normal.
I was at the front desk today and one of the secretaries asked me if I'd heard of the Kevin Bacon murder. I started to splutter in shock and she said it wasn't THAT Kevin Bacon. She told me a guy named Kevin Bacon killed a 52-year-old man in Swartz Creek and partially ate him after Kevin's wife left him because he stopped taking his meds. The details proved to be very different:https://www.freep.com/story/news/loca...

I would have been spluttering, too!
As to the murder, OMG, the world is surely riddled with despicable people.

Harv gets 23 years -- 3 years for rape and 20 years for some other unclearly-defined sex crime:https://www.bing.com/search?q=harvey+...
I did not find an article that explains on what planet a rape gets you 3 years and "another sex crime" gets you 20 -- without explaining the difference between the two. Harv himself is looking at four more similar charges in California even though, at his age and with his health issues, 23 years is probably an effective sentence to natural life. He did say at his sentencing that he feels confused about the definition of sexual assault. Yeah, apparently he is!

From a different article.
"Weinstein was convicted of a first-degree criminal sexual act for forcibly performing oral sex on Haley, a former Project Runway production assistant, in 2006 at the then-producer’s Soho apartment. The crime carried a possible sentence of four-25 years in prison.
The third-degree rape conviction involved an assault against former hairstylist and aspiring actress Mann, who said Weinstein raped her on March 18, 2013 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Midtown Manhattan. The crime, which indicates sexual intercourse without consent, carries a potential sentence of up to four years in prison. A first-degree conviction would have required the use of physical force or the threat of death or physical injury, which Mann did not allege.
