There was a genocide / massacre of an entire Native American tribe near me. I’m thinking of giving a book about it a go. Massacre of the Conestogas: On the Trail of the Paxton Boys in Lancaster County

I just finished Between Shades of Gray and rated it 5 stars. It's YA historical fiction - based on deportation of 130,000 Lithuanians to Siberian Work Camps by Stalin in WWII. Approximately 28,000 of the deportees died in exile due to poor living conditions - people were fed very little and died from murder, starvation, and disease. Difficult subject matter to read about, but Ruta Sepetys writes about it so well - it's poignant, haunting, and she creates a strong emotional connection with the characters.
I also want to read The Girl Who Smiled Beads: A Story of War and What Comes After about the Rwandan genocide.
      My options are:The Book Thief
The Man in the High Castle
City of Thieves
Sophie's Choice
I started Children of Blood and Bone and I think that will be what I go with.
I just finished The Tattooist of Auschwitz for this prompt and it was such a good read! Highly recommend to anyone who still has no clue what to read and never read it before.
