If you are interested in the 1941 Nazi plan to sabotage America's factories and infrastructure do NOT read this book. However, if you want to learn how the saboteurs fearful leader convinced himself that he is actually the hero and victim of this failed attack, and how everyone in both Germany and America betrayed him at every step of the journey, then this may prove a valuable read for you.
I was amazed how George Dasch could convince himself that everyone was wrong and that he was betrayed by everyone at every turn in his life. Truly incomprehensible how his mind worked.

The time and effort Macintyre invested into this work has paid off. It is perhaps the most informative and interesting book on Philby and the Cambridge Boys I have ever read. Not only will you learn about the times and habits of these historical figures but Macintyre presents the material in such a vivid format that you can almost smell the booze on Philby's breath. And it doesn't stop there, the Afterword by le Carre and the photo inserts provide a real glimpse into the main players and how business was done back in the real day.
From the 1951 "wanted" poster for Guy Burgess; "5'9", slender built, dark complexions, dark curly hair, tinged with gray, chubby face, clean shaven, slightly Pidgeon toed"
You know your days are numbered when your "wanted" poster mentions your toes.

Clint Richmond
A very absorbing read of murder and Nazi espionage, takes place from San Francisco, LA, to El Paso in Southwest Texas in 1938, a murder of two socialites that is still unsolved.
Yes indeed. The name is very distinctive. I believe I recently added it to our bookshelves under 'nonfiction-new'. Its earning a good reputation. Thx!

I've just noticed that our 'nonfiction' bookshelf is woefully lacking in nonfiction titles.
I'm calling on you to help me flesh it out. Please suggest any espionage nonfiction you can possibly think of; and add it to this shelf of ours. Or, tell me and I will add it.
It will be a big help. Thanks!
Cordially,
Feliks D.
