I nominate A Queen in Hiding by Sarah Kozloff, 1 book comes out each month for 4 months to complete the series and this kind of intrigues me

agreed that it should be sci-fi v. fantasy, but I've seen either classification for it.

I'd really like to nominate a litRPG book but there are almost none that are not self-published, at least I couldn't find any so instead I'd like to nominate Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman for fantasy.
I'd like to nominate Pushing Ice by Alistair Reynolds (for SF).I love that it's a stand-alone, and Reynolds wrote the best book I read in 2019, so I really want to read more by this author.
Wayland, I think 2001 is the mod pick for January, so not sure if you want to change your choice?

Alright then, The Stars My Destination sci fi

I recommend The Fisherman by John Langan. A realistic fantasy/horror along the lines of HP Lovecraft.
So many good nominations and with lots of seconds I almost feel bad for nominating a book against this tidal wave, but...Please can I nominate Limited Wish by Mark Lawrence for sci-fi

Would it not make sense to start with One Word Kill?

I'd missed that! Still, they're quite short; I'd be able to catch up if it is chosen :)

Our picks for January have just been posted (a little late, apologies) and it's time to nominate some books for February!
– Nominations will be open for 24-48 hours and during that time we will take in as many nominations as possible.
– After 24-48 hours, 8 books from each genre will be chosen at random from the selection, using a random generator online.
– Only ONE nomination per person (EITHER sci-fi OR fantasy).
– No books nominated last month may be re-nominated for this month; instead you must wait until next month to nominate them again. A book counts as “nominated” when it makes it to the polls. If it was suggested, but not picked for the polls, it can be entered again.
– If books are part of a series, they must be the first, unless the group has already read the previous book(s). (you can see our previous group reads here)
– No authors nominating their own works.
– No self-published or ebook-only books — we want our BotM to be accessible to as many members as possible!
– Book nominations may be seconded in place of a suggestion, but this will count as your choice for the month. Seconded books will receive an additional chance of being selected in the randomisation process.
