I didn't see these mini-challenges until now! For this one, I will read Always and Forever, Lara Jean, which will finish up the trilogy I started last month!
Jenny wrote: "Working on Shanghi Girls for this one, absolutly love Lisa See!"I plan to read The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane by Lisa See.
I picked a book from my TBR pile The Astonishing Color of After
Completed!
Absolutely a wonderful book - 5-star rating

Does Asian inspired fantasy count? Cause I need to get The Dragon Republic and Girls of Storm and Shadow.
Aneta, Wicked Fox was such a good book!
Kiersten, yes it does! I love that series by the way!
Masha, yes those would count. Sound like interesting books!

I finished Always and Forever, Lara Jean tonight! Read most of it in one sitting, lol! It finished up a very satisfying trilogy for me!
Oh wow, most of the books I've read this month have been set in Japan, so I've already got this covered!I'll count The Graveyard Apartment by Mariko Koike. Really good, subtle haunted house book.
Just saw this challenge and decided to join in with my current read which is Miracle on Cherry Hill by Sun-mi Hwang. I discovered Hwangs books last year and became a huge fan of her writing and story telling.
Rosemarie wrote: "I really liked The Hen Who Dreamed she Could Fly."I really liked that one, too, Rosemarie! My favorite so far was The Dog Who Dared to Dream. That could have been due to my dog loving heart though :)
Some really good choices here! I am almost done Shanghi Girls, have 9 pages left in it. I think after this one, I'll have to go on to China Dolls rather than Dreams Of Joy, since China Dolls is about the Japanese Internment and that is touched on in Shanghai Girls. Dreams Of Joy will be after that tho!
You're ripping through her books, Jenny! I'm thinking of reading Snow Flower and the Secret Fan next!
Eileen, my goal is to finish all her books I have before this year is up! Thanks for reminding me of Snow Flower, thats goanna be mu book for the winter word mini and I almost forgot haha!
Would anyone be interested in doing a buddy read of Pachinko? My cousin said it's one of her favorite books written by an AA author. :)

I will set up a buddy read, Eileen and Trisha, and whoever wants to join in.
The buddy read has been set up in the Buddy Read folder.
Happy reading!

Thank you Rosemarie! And thanks for joining me Trisha! When do you want to start? I'm finishing up Evelyn Hardcastle and How Long 'til Black Future Month, but I can start it this month or if you prefer, I can wait to start it in March. :)
You're welcome, Eileen. Since we don't do set monthly reads, BuddyReads are a good idea-anytime.

I’ve just joined the buddy read discussion thread. If you agree, I’d like to read it this month. I didn’t know anything about the book, looked it up when I saw your comment, started reading the preview & want to continue!
For this mini-challenge I read The Outlaw Ocean: Journeys Across the Last Untamed FrontierMuch of this book takes place in the waters off the coasts of Asian countries. The stories of the people from those countries and their mistreatment while on these fishing boats broke my heart. No one advocates for them and this book exposed that clearly. Excellent book and very eye opening.
The Accusation by Bandi is a collection of short stories smuggled out of North Korea and portray the difficult lives of the people living there.
