Our STEAMPUNK theme read is Leviathan. I'm really excited to start this one.

I truly love steampunk books... I love the combination of past present and future. The crazy stories and ideas that come out of this book are so fun... I love the leviathan (though it seems a little cruel to make a war ship out of a living animal). Such a unique idea and made the book very enjoyable

This was my first intro to Scott Westerfeld (also author of Uglies), and I was really blown away. Through this entire trilogy, I couldn't wait to get back into my car to listen to what was going to happen next. If you enjoy this, I recommend picking up books 2 and 3 in the trilogy immediately, as the whole thing functions wonderfully as one long, great story.
