Thanks Kim, sorry about all that. It has happened to me as well, where i am working quite a lot and being able to read between 12:30 and 1 at night, but that is about it. Anyways, you did a great job with the group, i think it is just timing right now.
Hey Todd, thanks! I haven't actually had a lot of time to read either and being on vacation made me realize that. That's just one of the many reasons I'm taking a step back from social networking on the web. I do think it is a matter of timing too. Maybe in the future I'll start something up again when it is fits more with what I'm doing. I look forward to seeing what you're reading in the future!
I have been totally bogged down too... totally tied up in my current writing project, to the point where I haven't even looked at a tube of paint for about four months. I'll be sad to see the group go, especially as I'm going to have more time on my hands in about a month and was hoping to get back into everything that I've neglected so terribly.Gosh darn it, I'd have a go at running it if I wasn't so busy. Life just seems to get in the way of... well... life!
We'll stay in touch, Gina. Happy to discuss art, art books, life with you anytime. Totally get it about your book. That is how it should be. That is where I am at with my work now, full focus. Simplifying. We have 47 members, so maybe someone will step up and save the group still...
I'm sad that the group will be closing... like everyone else, I guess my schedule has gotten away from me.Anyway we could just keep it open in case someone feels inspired? I know you want an active leader, Kim, but perhaps there are other options.
Ah well, either way, I've enjoyed meeting everyone here! And I certainly won't be losing touch, Kim ;)
Thanks for looking at options, Kay. I'll put up a poll regarding that. Just seems a bit sad to have a "dead duck" group, but maybe someone would like to pick it up out of the water to resuscitate later.
Kim,I'm really sorry to hear the group will be closing - I thought it was a great idea & unique in the Good Reads world. I hope someone else decides to moderate it.
I sincerely apologize for my part in the lame duck phenomenon. Between my unexpected health & work issues, this sadly turned out to be the wrong year for me to take on consistent participation in online groups, enthusiastic as I was (and continue to be, in a completely distracted way) about them.
I respect your intention to do what's best for your art.
Ok, Well, that's it, the few of you who voted want to keep the group on even though we've been silent for a while. In fact, I'm glad too as I would have missed it too in spite of our inability to work it into our schedules. Hopefully, down the road I will have the time to participate more. In the meantime, I leave it up to you members to get/keep the ball rolling as you will, knowing that I am spending more time on my work and less on line. Odette, no apologies needed AT ALL. I totally understand and gratefully appreciate your support. You have mine as well. See you all around, maybe sooner than later, we'll see. Artipathy lives.
I'm really glad that the group will stay open. I have just finished weeks of horrible editing and freedom is on the horizon... so I'm hoping to go mad on the Internet very soon. Hurrah!Got to catch up on my reading... can't wait.
Congratulations on getting the editing done, Gina! Have fun getting back to your books. Still plowing through V.G. at this moment, but slowly. See you around.
Gee, I wonder who those members were? Thanks Odette and Kay, we'll see what happens, or not now.
