Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments Seeing that I want to get into goodreads right now, I think that 50 is a good goal of how many books I want to read in 2020. If I read anymore than 50 then that is even more great. I just want to enjoy this year's reading journey :D

In addition I would like to read 40,000 pages in the span of the year.

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 1. The Groovy Greeks by Terry Deary (140 pages)

Reason why I chose this book: As a child I was a major fan of the Horrible Histories series and this was one of the books that I read and enjoyed back when I was growing up. It's quite funny and is quite informative.

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 2. The Ex Files by Jane Moore (279 pages)

Reason why I chose this book: I recently picked this book free of charge and the synopsis is what drawn me in from the beginning. Besides, chick-lit fiction is something I like from time to time.

Thanks so much :)

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 3. Perfect Confidence by Jan Ferguson (176 pages)

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 4. Burn for Burn by Jenny Han (356 pages)

Reason why I chose this book: Revenge stories are always fun in my opinion and having a story told from three characters' point of view seemed rather interesting. Young adult books can be good as well.

Date finished: 11/1/20
Pages read: 951/40,000

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 5. Quiet: Learning to silence the brain chatter and believing that you’re good enough by Fearne Cotton (288 pages)

Reason why I chose this book: I've seen Fearne Cotton's books before when I'm out shopping and this is the first time I've bought one. Besides, the cover is really pretty to look at and it's what caught my eye the most.

Date finished: 13/1/20

Love the idea of keeping track of pages read, mind if I steal that idea?

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 6. Vile Victorians by Terry Deary (144 pages)

Reason why I chose this book: I've read this before when I was a child all because the Victorian era was one of my favourite ages in British history. Consider it a blast from the past in more ways than one.

Pages read: 1,383/40,000

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 7. Risking it All by Tessa Bailey (400 pages)

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 8. New Blood by Matt Forbeck (200 pages)

Reason why I chose this book: I've been a massive Halo fan for such a long time and Halo ODST was the first ever game I played of the franchise. It's good to catch up with Eddy Buck along with the rest of his badass crew.

Pages read: 1,983/40,000

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 9. A Demon and His Witch by Eve Langlais (172 pages)

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 10. Chances by Jackie Collins (480 pages)

Reason why I chose this book: Years ago the Kobo website was doing a sale on lots of Jackie Collins books and I decided to buy most of them. I've been meaning to re-read the books that I've got of hers as she is one of my favourite authors.

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 11. Terrifying Tudors by Terry Deary (144 pages)

Reason why I chose this book: I remember reading this book quite a few times when I was younger. One of my most favourite historical periods, besides the Victorian and the Greeks, was Tudors due to so many reasons.

Date finished: 25/1/20
Pages read: 2,779/40,000

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 12. Zombies From The Deep by Nick Grey (169 pages)

Reason why I chose this book: For the first time of this year I was so very stuck on what to read. As I downloaded this book for free a long time ago I decided to read it. Besides, who can't resist a good short story involving zombies and people getting eaten?

Date finished: 27/1/20
Pages read: 2,948/40,000

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 13. Adam by Jennifer Ashley (237 pages)

Reason why I chose this book: I do have a soft spot for romance books as it's just so good to see two characters who are fortunate enough to get a second chance at love. Also I've had this sitting on my Kobo doing nothing for a long time now.

Date finished: 27/1/20
Pages read: 3,185/40,000

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 14. The Warlord Wants Forever by Kresley Cole (256 pages)

Reason why I chose this book: Since I've been unwell with sinus problems I decided to read one of my favourite books from my all time favourite author. I do have plans of rereading the series in order for the first time ever.

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 15. Don't Quit: How to kick-start your plans and make the most of your time by Hal Fisher (160 pages)

Reason why I chose this book: Literally I bought this book the other day and I wanted to make it the first book that I read for the first day of February. It's good to have a boost of inspiration, especially for either small or big projects.

Date finished: 1/2/20
Pages read: 3,601/40,000

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 16. The Phoenix Prince by Kristen Gupton (296 pages)

Reason why I chose this book: I have way too many unread books on both my Kobos and this was no exception. The premises sounded pretty intriguing and I was curious as to see how vampires and royalty mix in some ways.
