I did wonder about this and I keep waffling back and forth. I think it might have been possible that her secret would have "leaked" to the wrong person sooner if she had divulged her identity.
I waffled too about this question. I'm sure Liam would have taken her and protected her knowing her true identity and I don't think he would have let her secret out.
I went back and forth also on this. I think they should have trusted Liam to keep her secret. But there was always the chance it would have gotten out.
I, too, thought they should have told Liam but maybe he would have said, “no.” After all, she was given responsibility for his children and that goes beyond him.
At first, I also thought that they should have told him, but Dorian's explanation at the end made sense to me. While Liam was Dorian's brother, they actually knew very little about him other than his reputation. As a decorated military officer and a nobleman, he might have placed duty over sympathy if he knew the truth.
You are right, Lauren. Dorian and Liam really didn't know each other at all. In fact Liam wrote to Farah with his request for help finding a governess.
