Sharon Cox (bodleian) | 101 comments Gilli has an entry for 2020. Not a long one but he's here.

message 2: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (quarterlifepotato) | 35 comments Yay! So happy to read from him again for 2020. thanks for the heads up Sharon!

message 3: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 395 comments Yes, thank you so much, Sharon. I usually check in myself but it's hit or miss. I'm glad he's still thinking of us. I hope he continues to touch base no matter how infrequently. He mentioned that he had already paid for the website for a year, so he'll keep it up that long at least. Fingers crossed that he'll renew it for another year when the time comes.

message 4: by Karen (new)

Karen | 92 comments I also think that we should keep emailing him every so often so that he knows we are thinking about him. I thought for the most part he sounded pretty upbeat!

message 5: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 395 comments I've been doing that at least once per month in addition to after each diary entry and special occasions - Christmas, New Year's, and of course VALENTINE'S DAY. We should flood him with Valentine's Days cards to let him know we are still thinking about him.

message 6: by MiChElLe (new)

MiChElLe (mic0610) | 48 comments Gilli posted on his diary for February!

message 7: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 395 comments Thanks, Michelle. I check in periodically, but never seem to hit it right. I'm so glad you let us know.

Gilli's such a tease. I was getting all excited about the daddies FINALLY acknowledging Valentine's Day - and it turned out that his vivid description was only a fantasy. Sigh.

And he was quite right to deny Dick access to the box of chocolates Gilli bought for himself.

I would have LOVED to see him in his Cupid outfit with the little paper wings. Honestly, how can Dick and Shane not respond to that?

I remembered a Diary entry where Dick bought Gilli a cat jumper suit that Gilli at first didn't want to wear, but Dick made him put it on. Gilli decided he looked cute in it, and when he went downstairs, Shane was, shall we say, appreciative. I'd have to look it up, but I think Shane asserted alpha daddy rights to have first dibs on Gilli, even though Dick thought HE should go first because he was the one who bought the adult cat suit.

How could they not show the same appreciation for a Gilli cupid?

It boggles the mind.

Cheryl

MiChElLe (mic0610) | 48 comments Hey Gillifans - our favorite houseboy just posted a new entry to cheer us up during our social distancing woes.

message 9: by Cheryl (last edited Mar 20, 2020 06:04PM) (new)

Cheryl | 395 comments As always, thank you so much Michelle for alerting us to a Gilli post. I HOPE Dick just has a cold and not the virus.

Like Gilli, I'm hoping all Gillifans and their loved ones stay safe during this crisis. I'm not alone in being terrified about what might happen in the days/weeks/months ahead.

I'm retired and 'elderly'. While that puts me in the high-risk category, it also means that I don't have to worry about losing a job on which I depend for food, shelter, paying bills, etc. I just have to worry about getting sick and surviving it if I do.

On a lighter note, a friend of mine told me to Google 'news in cartoons'. I don't know how to post the funnier cartoons I found out there (mostly about hoarding toilet paper), so Google it yourselves for a smile.

Another friend told me about a tweet he saw that made me laugh.

Someone tweeted that it was March 2053, and he was just using the last roll of toilet paper that his mother had purchased in March 2020!!

Stay safe, all.

Cheryl

Andrea | 156 comments stay safe everyone!! going to read right now. was wondering about him and his health this days. seems i summoned him with my thoughts lol

message 11: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Cox (bodleian) | 101 comments I read it earlier and it's typically Gilli. I hope that everyone is safe and well. I'm in my mid 60s and now retired so I'm not dependent on a job but I do have to travel at least once a week to help my mother. As long as I am healthy so is she as she has no contact with very few people.
I will be reading a lot over the next few weeks/months.
Take care everyone.

message 12: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Cox (bodleian) | 101 comments Gilli has a second entry up for March and he is doing what he does best.

message 13: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 395 comments Thanks, Sharon. I'm relieved that Dick has recovered. It never occurred to me that Gilli was at increased risk of complications because of his 'fizzy brain's. I know Shane must be getting up there in years, and I wondered how he was managing his business.

I don't blame Gilli for being stressed out.

message 14: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (quarterlifepotato) | 35 comments Thanks always for the alert that Gilli has new entry. I always love to read his diaries it lightens the day. Stay safe everyone!

Jennifer (quarterlifepotato) | 35 comments Thank you!!
Looks like Gilli is doing some writing. The chapter titles of Revs is more now. Or maybe I just noticed it late.. :)

message 22: by Erin (new)

Erin (erinloveshockey) | 20 comments I would give a limb for a finished copy of Revs while in Quarantine. It’s the only thing I would do for the next month.

message 23: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 156 comments indeed Erin indeed !!!!

message 24: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Cox (bodleian) | 101 comments I agree, Erin. I'm really looking forward to reading this book when it is published. May have to start reading from book 1 again too.

message 25: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 156 comments Hello, how is everyone, i hope you all are ok. The news about the UK have not been so good these days, so i hope everyone is healthy. i'm a tiny little bit concerned about Gilli not updating lately... hopefully he is alright as well as Shane and Dick

message 26: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 395 comments Hi Andrea - these are scary times for sure. As far as Gilli not posting - I'm actually surprised (and delighted) that he's posted at all. What concerns me now is that I THINK he said he paid for the blog site through June of this year (?), so I'm wondering if he's just going to run out the clock, and that will be that. I hope he misses us a little bit, and that he pays for another year.

I don't care how infrequently he posts. I just like hearing from him and knowing he, Dick, and Shane are ok.

message 27: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Cox (bodleian) | 101 comments I keep visiting his page hoping that he has updated. I'm sure that Shane is keeping him safe and that Dick is spoiling him. Hopefully we will hear from him soon.

message 28: by Bastion (new)

Bastion | 5 comments Gillibran has posted, and needs our help.

message 29: by Erin (new)

Erin (erinloveshockey) | 20 comments Read through the post & the new chapter! Gosh I just miss his writing so much! It was lovely to get a bit.

message 30: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 395 comments When he called it a fundraiser, I thought we'd be able to donate some money to support him keeping the blog spot going. I remember one time he offered one of his short stories, and we could determine the price. I don't care how infrequently he posts. I just like him dropping by from time to time to say hello - so we know he's still out there.

message 31: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Cox (bodleian) | 101 comments I've just bought his fundraising effort and I will be reading soon. I'm gad to see that he is around and posting and I, for one, would be very happy that instead of writing a long book he wrote lots of shorter ones. I would still be buying as I want to read his stories.

message 32: by Ghost (new)

Ghost | 14 comments First time commenting!

It's not the first time Gilli has complained about maintaining his website and I have no idea how much it costs him but it makes me wonder, wouldn't it be possible for him to move his content somewhere else? so many free blog like options out there to share content.

message 33: by Bastion (new)

Bastion | 5 comments Teresa, I think some of the reason is that he doesn't want to be bothered with the technical side of maintaining a public forum. Also, I believe his privacy is far better protected with this company than it would be as a free blog.

message 34: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (quarterlifepotato) | 35 comments Wooooow. I am so late but when I saw his post I immediately clicked buy! I'd buy any chapter he release. I'd gladly buy a lot stand alone chapters so he keeps his blog and continue to write. We are many who enjoy reading his stories. I'm so excited for when he release Revs..

message 35: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 395 comments I agree, Bastion. I think privacy issues and resolving technical problems is a little harder with the freebies. I don't know how much it costs for this blog, but he must pay annually because I remember him posting that since he'd already paid through June, he was going to keep it up until then. Of course, I want him to keep it up after June, so anything I can do to help make that happen, I will do.

message 36: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 28 comments He also posted a new post yesterday, may 29th. I don't know if you have read it already, but I thought I would give you guys a heads up.

message 37: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 156 comments wow! i'm late to everything... i seriously hope i can help with the purchase, since i live in another country and the currency exchange value is negative for me lol... but will try

message 38: by Rachel (last edited May 31, 2020 09:50AM) (new)

Rachel | 1 comments Thank you for sharing these updates! Thanks to your timely updates I learned about Gilli's fundraising and was able to participate. I'm pretty new to the fan family, but am thrilled to be able to support our beloved Gilli! Thanks!!!

message 39: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Cox (bodleian) | 101 comments Gilli has posted a June entry and there is hopeful news in the last paragraph.
Now I have a question - has Gilli ever told us how to pronounce his name? Is the G hard or soft? I cant remember.

message 40: by Bastion (new)

Bastion | 5 comments Sharon, Since that is not his real name, nor is it a name, I don't suppose it really matters. I use the J sound in my head, just like Gillyflowers. I don't recall Gillibran ever mentioning it.

message 41: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 156 comments Oh interesting! In my head I always said it with a soft g like in "give". Gilli... Maybe because I'm not an English native speaker haha

message 42: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Cox (bodleian) | 101 comments I have always used the J sound as well but I've always wondered and I couldn't remember the pronunciation ever being mentioned.

message 43: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 28 comments Gilli has written a new diary entry. Unfortunately he has decided to take some time away again from the diary to finish Revs. I must say I'm really excited about that, but sad to see him go from the diary.

message 44: by Karen (new)

Karen | 92 comments I feel terrible! I never remember the date of his birthday! I know Shane’s is in February and I think Dick is in the fall?? Anyone know for sure???

message 45: by Selen (new)

Selen | 31 comments I couldn’t buy Valenswines because smashwords didn’t accept my credit card info. I hadn’t had any problems before. Now I hope I can buy revs when it’s published without any problems from smashwords.

message 46: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 156 comments Karen i think is in June... hmmm June 9 if im not mistaken

message 47: by Bastion (new)

Bastion | 5 comments Selen, I had the same problem the first time I bought from Smashwords. I ended up using PayPal, and have had no problem since then.

message 48: by Cheryl (last edited Jun 09, 2020 07:40PM) (new)

Cheryl | 395 comments I have his birthday down as June 8. Dick is Aug. 1 and Shane is Jan. 18. I'll have to send him belated birthday greetings - I missed it.

About his diary entry - since I thought he was saying goodbye to the diary for good last fall, I'm surprised and delighted that he's posted off and on since then, and apparently is keeping the diary going for another year.

I'm good with whatever he posts, and fine if he wants to work on Revelations.

message 49: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 156 comments I just hope he doesnt drop Revs on the same time of the year i'll be with my thesis, because Revs will consume me and i'll need my brain to graduate LOL

message 50: by Mariana (new)

Mariana (mearias) | 14 comments There's a new diary entry up for December... it was such a nice surprise to see December up.
