CPL's Book a Week Challenge discussion

Since the season of gift giving is upon us, I thought it would be fun for everyone to create a wish list of books they might hope to get over the holidays. A fantasy, book wishlist, if you will...

Here's mine:
1. The Sandman complete collection (because dat artwork)

2. The Lord of the Rings trilogy, a Collector's edition

3. Hitch-22: A Memoir

4. Armada (To be fair, this doesn't release until next summer, but I'm preparing for it now.)

5. In Persuasion Nation (because Saunders' short stories are amazing)

6. Undeniable: Evolution and the Science of Creation (because Bill Nye)

7. Mark of the Demon (for something fun and fluffy to read)

Okay, Here is my wish list, off the top of my head.
1) Harry Potter (I want the paperback set with the picture of Hogwarts across the covers.

2) Lord of the Rings (I've read mine to death)

3) Quiet (it's on my to be read list)

4) Mastering the Art of French Cooking (just because)

5)The Game of Thrones Set (On my to read list)

6) Obsession in Death (comes out 2/10/15)

7) Beowulf

I've been told I should read these

2. Two Renegade Realms by Donita K. Paul
Realm Walkers Book 2, and she is one of my favorite authors.

3. The Nerdist Way by Chris Hardwick

4. Joanne Fluke's Lake Eden Cookbook

5. Mr. CSI

6. Knit Two by Kate Jacobs

7. Dreaming in Technicolor
(I read Dreaming in Black and White several years ago and just found out that she wrote a sequel!)
8. As You Wish... because... Princess Bride!


I think that maybe that's it, at least according to my amazon wishlist and shopping list!

I asked a lot of people for amazon giftcards this year because I have a lot of books on my to-read list....so all of those books!

I'm with Kyra; I like getting B&N and amazon gift cards!! My biggest request from Santa is time to sit and read uninterrupted over the holidays! :)

I love this idea! Despite reading so many books this year, there was hardly any point where I just got to sit and relax and read. Most of the time, I crammed reading into my lunch breaks and commutes.

Christmas came early for me last night! My husband left this on my pillow:

with a note that said, "Merry Christmas early, here is your December challenge."

I am so excited!!

Oh, my word!!! It's out?!?! I had no idea the graphic novel was out. What a great Christmas present. Guess I'm going to be taking a trip to Barnes and Noble to get it. I love Firefly! Thanks for posting this. :D
