She Should Run Book Club discussion

As you're halfway, or close to halfway, done with "Represent: The Woman’s Guide to Running for Office and Changing the World, " you might be thinking more about the logistics of a future run for office. We just shared a video from authors June Diane Raphael and Kate Black that discusses theses questions and shares some of their favorite stories from elected officials they interviewed from the book.

As a reader, what questions do you have? What unique challenge do you face as you consider a run for office? What story has inspired you as you continue to read "Represent?"

I do think attending events is an important way to build a network that you'll need to run. Those are your donors and campaign volunteers and people who'll tell their friends how great you are. I think a good way to manage can be to set some boundaries about only doing one event per week so you don't overdo it. Also, I've gotten active on social media communities for local political things and causes and that's a great way to connect and start establishing some expertise from home.
