I was waiting for this list last week. Thanks for posting.
A Mistake by Carl Shuker is on my TBR list. It meets one of my reading prompts for Popsugar Reading Challenge, and was recommended to me.

Crafting Aotearoa is fabulous, so to is Carl Shuker's. I have just a couple gaps in this list - I just have Loving Sylvie to go on the fiction category and I haven't been able to find a copy anywhere. Will continue the hunt.
Oooh, controversy with the Ockham's!

I have no opinion on this as I haven't read any of the 2020 long or shortlist yet.
But the judges now have a very short time to read these books. They may, of course, read some before the longlist came out.

I didn't watch this live (clean forgot!) but I think the Ockham's Committee made the best of a bad situation.
Awards Ceremony very well done.

The Writer's festival is being so proactive in the pandemic!
Becky Manawatu is being interviewed this weekend. Its on You tube & FB, also you can watch later on pod casts. Should be able to find more info here. (the headline is for series 2 & Ms Manawatu is part of series 3)

I've just listened to this live. Unfortunately missed most of Becky's so I'm going to have to listen to the replay later, but Chanel Miller was also on. What an amazing, vibrant young woman. She wrote Know My Name one of the books in the book pool.
Books mentioned in this topic
Know My Name (other topics)A Mistake (other topics)
We Are Here: An Atlas of Aotearoa (other topics)
Crafting Aotearoa: A Cultural History of Making in New Zealand and the Wider Moana (other topics)

Anyone looking forward to reading any of these?
I like the look of most of the illustrated non-fiction category, but in particular We Are Here: An Atlas of Aotearoa & Crafting Aotearoa: A Cultural History of Making in New Zealand and the Wider Moana Also in general non-fiction Wild Honey: Reading New Zealand Women's Poetry
