Joahua Poldark is sick in bed at the end of the prologue. Then there's a scene where he crosses his land wades into the sea and "sleeps." Then we're back at the house with the servants and Joshua is sleeping.
Was that a sickbed dream that we witnessed? Or did the man drown himself? It bugs me when authors try to get all "metaphorical" at the expense of clarity.
