I just read Maze Runner and Gone Girl based on student recommendations. Prior to that I read a James Patterson mystery, and I can't remember the title. Sorry. It was mediocre. I do love Sue Grafton, though, and read W is for Wasted. It was poignant, which is interesting for a mystery. Before that I read the City of Bones series. This time last year, I was reading the Divergent series. Lying around my house right now are Cuckoo's Calling, The Goldfinch, and Cutting for Stone. I'll get to those soon, I hope. I have also been reading some Ann Voskamp and an emergent literacy textbook. Strangely, I like educational texts. Not exactly pleasure reading, but interesting.
I just finished Ron Rash's book One Foot in Eden. The story has echoes of Cold Mountain running throughout it as Rash focuses upon the legends of the land itself.
Looking forward to starting All the Light We Cannot See.
