What are some reading strategies or take aways that you want to try in your classroom?

We are already doing a weekly reading log. The ideas I am taking away are ways to revamp this a little bit and the opportunity to give more class time to actual reading for pleasure.

I am working on creating some grouped books based on upcoming themes and threads in one of my English seminars. After finding success with the technique last semester, it is one that allows for student choice and buy in from the beginning. They set their own reading schedule and take turns moderating a discussion board.
